The developers make you work for your shots in this match -- practically every element of shooting has been made manual this time around. Learn the court, get to know how it feels to take from other areas in the stadium and be aware you are never making the same shot twice. Your own custom character will perform and shoot unlike any other player in the sport, so learn where you're best to take from and then build the rest of the team around how you position yourself and playwith. The sport is going to do very little for you this time around, so learn how to take for yourself correctly.

Concentrate on Shooting badges -- these raise your Shooting skill without messing with analytics too far and can quickly pile up to give you a strong operational edge over your competitors. Even if your general score is somewhat lower than you'd like, you may still dominate higher-ranked players when you've got a good set of Badges. Every MyCareer game will progress you in some manner or another towards a Badge -- thus make these jump shots, gain possession, and unlock coaching drills to truly start making meaningful progression and obtaining these Badges to change your stats. The current-gen version has fumbled around a bit, but I must believe some of the issues are because of 2K dividing its resources with the next-gen iteration. It seems clear, 2K has firearms blazing on the PlayStation 5 along with Xbox Series X versions, and don't forget what they didn't put the bar as we moved to the current-gen back in 2013.
